SiNG iN ITALY: JSerra Catholic Perugia Concert on April 5

February 8, 2018 / Inside Europe

The singers from  JSerra Catholic High School (California, USA) are presenting a highlight concert iN Perugia, Italy on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence (San Lorenzo) at 9 pm. This highlight concert directed by Brenda von Gremp is a collaboration between the Musica dal Mondo Festival and iNCANTATO CONCERT TOURS.

Perugia Duomo dates back to year 900

Also known Perugia’s Duomo, this stunning medieval Roman Catholic Cathedral dedicated to Saint Lawrence. It overlooks Piazza IV Novembre in the heart of the historical city center. A church has stood here since the 900s, but the building you see today is much newer: Construction began in 1345 from designs created by Fra Bevignate. Building continued until 1587, although the main facade was never completed. Inside you’ll find dramatic late-Gothic architecture, an altarpiece by Luca Signorelli and sculptures by Agostino di Duccio.
The steps in front of the facade are where seemingly all of Perugia congregates; they overlook the piazza’s centerpiece, the delicate pink-and-white marble Maggiore Fountain.

JSerra Catholic sings iN Perugia on Thursday, April 5 at 9 pm at the Duomo di San Lorenzo (Cathedral of Saint Lawrence). Entrance is free. This iNCANTATO highlight concert is part of the Musica dal Mondo Festival.
